Solar Limpets Flat Roof System
Suitable for side fix rail systems, which employ an M8 or M10 hammer bolt and flange nut to secure the rail to the Limpet roof hook system. The Solar Limpet flat roof system provides fast and simple flat roof installation on any suitable flat roof surface, eliminating the need for bins, ballast and A-frame constructions.

Fixing
Fixing is achieved directly into a suitable and secure roof decking structure. Weather sealing is achieved by the Limpet’s patented baseplate sealing system using a combination of EPDM seals and CT1 sealant.
When considering the suitability of Solar Limpet roof hooks for flat roof applications, the general condition of the roof, its structure, and its covering must be taken into consideration.
Poorly drained elevations or those with sunken areas that allow water/debris pools to form over the long term may not be suitable.

Once trained 3-4 hours for a 4kwp install will be the norm.
A 10 to 11-degree panel angle is achieved following correct installation.
The primary deciding factor will be the type and condition of the roof decking material. Testing carried out by Solar Limpets on an 18mm OSB board achieved exceedingly good pull-out loading figures. It may be necessary to undertake a pull-out load test if the condition and or construction materials used for the roof/decking are unknown. Please see the Flat Roof support page for more information.
All types, provided the surface can be made relatively flat prior to installation and if a rubberised type covering, the covering is not a Polypropylene based material.

Solar Limpets are warranted for the life of the system they support, providing the installation instructions are complied with, and the roof has been surveyed as suitable for PV installation.
To maintain the Solar Limpets product warranty, Solar Limpets must ONLY be installed by persons trained & certificated by Solar Limpets.
